The Truth About Publishing

I'm not going to lie to you and tell you it's as easy as breathing because it isn't. Ok, for a writer, the writing is, but a lot of people don't think they’re writers so ... the writing seems hard. Trust that once you get going, it will flow. And, there are a lot of steps to take along the way from having an idea to write a book to that 'final' moment when you hit PUBLISH.
I put final in inverted commas because hitting publish is not the final step at all.
Before I continue though, let me say, the entire process may not be easy BUT with the right structure it is actually simple. It's why I created Instant Author (now The Editors Files), both the newsletter and the ebook. I have gone through this entire process 7 times now and will be going through it many more times no doubt.
I have it down to a fine art and ... as I was doing it again and again I realised that the method I was using wasn't a silly little thing, it was the whole enchilada. It's an everything burger for the person who wants to know EXACTLY what to do to get from A to Z.
It's the framework I use ( The Full Monty Framework) with everyone who comes to me wanting to share their stories, and their feedback has been awesome to hear.
I created it because I didn't like all the smoke and mirrors stuff that went on behind the curtain like some weird version of Oz. I don't like to gatekeep, I love transparency, I like having everything I need in one place, and I know a whole lot of people injoy that too.
Did you ever watch the movie Robots? Well, in the movie, the head of Bigweld Industries, Mr Bigweld, says "See a need, fill a need", and that's what I do. I saw a need for total transparency in a space that was hidden, and I filled it with a place that has everything a writer needs to make their dreams a reality.
Don't tell me you have dreams only to NOT fulfil them? I sincerely hope that isn't the case! No ... I know it's not the case. I know you! I know your dreams are bubbling under the surface and all you need is the right place to lay them out so we can build them together piece by piece. I KNOW that's you!
How do I know you so well? Because I am you!
The truth in publishing is, if you don't have a publisher who cares, and a litany of other people to do all the things that have to be done to get your book from idea to print, then you're going to do it alone BUT ... you don't have to when there is a perfect place to go ALL IN, and play full out.
